Lucky for me, my table at the craft fair was wedged between two stellar ladies, the seeds of what I hope will become the East Tuscaloosa Craft Cooperative, Mary Hussey (a.k.a. StitchhappyMama) and Jessica Lacher-Feldman, queen of wool, felting needles, trompe l'oeil, and eye-popping embroidery.
Jessica's felted wool acorns and beautiful embroidery creations.
I promised myself not to spend any money at the craft fair, but my self didn't realize how the tantalizing colors to my right would eventually wear down the iron resolve.... See for yourself why I broke my promise.
An owl by Jessica.
A happy yet dead head by Jessica.
Terrific textures and colors.
Sweet home Alabama.
And this is how I broke my promise. A little bit of David Bowie found its place on our wall today.
